Figure skating is just about the most graceful sport around, and yet the chance that you'll slip and fall on your keester right smack in the middle of your short program is probably greater than in any other sport. Even in football the quarterback doesn't eat it with nearly the frequency of a champion skater.Obviously this isn't a knock to our beloved ice dancers; that the slightest imperfection can land you face down on the ice is a testament to how close to real perfection these skaters often are. And so it is with the utmost reverence and respect for figure skating that we present these ice skating bloopers to you. We left out the gruesome ones, but if that's your thing, they're just a YouTube search for "ice skating falls" away.

You should try doing a triple lutz or a triple axel!!!!!!!!! I bet you can't do anything close to what they're doing!!! You can't blame them for falling and pair skating can be very difficult.

I'm going to go ahead and quote the 2nd paragraph of the post for you:
"Obviously this isn't a knock to our beloved ice dancers; that the slightest imperfection can land you face down on the ice is a testament to how close to real perfection these skaters often are. And so it is with the utmost reverence and respect for figure skating that we present these ice skating bloopers to you."

He was not blaming anyone. He was simply pointing out that falling is a part of the sport. You can youtube any sport and find bloopers.

Oh Katie Katie Katie, you sound like a 6 year old. Now please put your pity party on hold and read it again. I have no doubt that it is quite difficult, I won't even try as it is not my skill. No one is judgeing you or looking down on you, so just settle down.

i don't know what's weirder, the fact that someone put all these clips together, or the fact this this was a main news story for AOL.....i don't see the humor...

True, it is not funny. It makes want to cry really ; when you see all the work they've put in !

Agreed. I cringe when I see skaters fall during a performance (especially in the Olympics). They put so much on the line for a perfect performance and I hate to see when they fall and hurt that chance.
There's nothing funny about any of this. People who have the maturity level of a 6 year old are the only ones who think this is funny. That says a lot about AOL News' staff. Sad that they thought it was good enough to be a main article. SMH

I don't find anything "funny" about these clips. If you do, you're sick.

I agree. It's just apart of doing something everyone knows is hard.

and where is the part that is hard not to laugh at....all I could see was a group of EXTREMELY talented and well-trained, highly disciplined athletes encountering a misfortune that NONE of us would ever want to encounter .....if we EVER in a MILLION years could approach the skill that it takes to be where they are......and this is funny HOW??????

Give me a break. I compete for a living and sometimes things don't always go as planned. We call them bloopers and they are funny as hell. I will be willing to bet that everyone on those clips have watched them over and over cracking up. Its part of what we do. If we can't find humor in things life becomes very short.

Why not assemble clips of the skaters at their best? Perhaps it would be just as entertaining gathering the poorest selections of your heart felt writing over the last ten years and posting them for the public to see.

I can usually find humor in most things, but as the mother of a competitive athlete (gymnastics), I don't find anything funny about this at all. I've sat in the crowd as I've watched my child fall off a beam or bars, slam their head on the floor, and lay there. All the while you hold your breath waiting to see if they move or get up, never mind waiting to see if they can finish their routine in front of hundreds of people. This takes an enormous amount of courage, and I don't find anything humorous or newsworthy of watching these young people get injured.

I couldn't agree more...nothing "funny" about it at all. In fact, my heart stops when I see someone fall or get injured, regardless of whether they're an athlete or a novice.
