First the Discovery Channel had its stars sing how they love the whole world, with the refrain of "Boom de ah dah," in a happy ad called "The World Is Just Awesome." Then Randall Munroe made his characters sing the song (now with a "Boom-de-yada" – transliteration is subjective!) on his webcomic, XKCD.
Now those characters, as well as more nerd heroes and XKCD fans (including Star Trek's Wil Wheaton, Congress-reforming lawyer Larry Lessig, and blogger Jason Kottke) sang the song on a collaborative video.
And we put all of that below, plus the Discovery Channel's sequel ad.
