This past weekend the DC Snowpocalypse blanketed our nation's capital and its surrounding areas with more than a million feet of snow. That's a bit of an overstatement – it was more like two to three – but still, that's a ton. Here are a few time-lapse videos of the storm. After you've watched them, why not make your own time-lapse of today's Nor'easter and send us a link?

I don't recall any whining watching these videos. We aren't whining. We are doing what we have to do in order to get out. Over 30 inches of snow, and 3 days later 20 on top of that? Neighborhoods are coming together and helping each other out. That doesn't happen in most other cities, does it? So whining, no. Helping each other, yes. And thank God you don't live here. We don't need your negativity.

Hey Bill, let's see how you do with no power/heat for 4 days. I'd love to shove you in a snow pile.
True, we are not used to 30 inches at once and then another 20. It's just unusual and we're trying to deal with it.

All you people sound stupid the snow you get in Albania where i lived in VERMOSh, i dont think you get it anywhere else. 2-3 feet of snow is nothing compared to 4-6 Feet of snow and some other places they get 7-8 feet of snow, and that's what i call survivors and true soldiers. Winter over there its not like here, winter over there lasts longer then ever. But some of these Americans all they do is whine like little baby's 10 inches of snow its a big deal for them wow loll were not going anywhere this week because it snowed 10 inches what about over there 5 feet where no cars can move at all people get sick and they have to be transported to the hospital by airplane...!
----Any questions just mail me ill be more then happy to answer them---! I personally live in NY and i don' have a problem with this much of snow at all i love snow and for those that don't just like some other people said before me move out of state. So for tose of us that i living in a lot of snow lets get together and get through it!!! I would rather have snow then rain?.....!!!!

Yes it is winter and it snows but do you say the same thing to people living in areas where hurricanes and tornados happen. there are hard working people trying to clear road ways with little rest and storm after storm hits. These people need support for their hard work not people telling them to stop crying and move somewher else.

it is a big deal. Im from NY and now live in Baltimore. The people down here are completely and utteraly unprepared for snow like this. Not only is there not enough equipment to clear the snow but people do not know how to drive in it or deal with it. The roads in baltimore are still not plowed from this past weekend and now we are getting more. It really has crippled the area. It may not seem like alot to other parts of the world but anything can be bad when you're not prepared.
On a good note though I may have my first ever work snow day tomorrow. :-)

I agree with you.
We get over a foot of snow or more at least four times a winter here in Central Ny and we just plow it/shovel it and get our asses to work.
Why is this such a surprise?

It is not Maryland that is whinning....It is the media that has once again taken an issue that is not so bad and mad it something ridiculous, putting people who have never seen this situation in their lives in a huge panic. The reason it is a problem is because our state is not prepared for a storm like this, which leads me to the next point...our state is run by someone who should have never gotten into the position and then our president makes everything a 100 times worse by giving the snow storm a stupid name! I understand where people from other parts of the country are coming from, but give us a small break. we don't all hate the snow!

Yeah but we were supposed to get 2-4 in and got 2-4 feet. AAA wasn't towing people because all the accidents from one day.

I agree ... It's not like this is a once in a lifetime thing. Heck, here in Michigan we get buried every year and you see nothing on the news about it. This time the east coast got nailed, but even when they get a couple of inches of snow it's all over the news like a major catastrophe.

I LOVE the snow! We're expected to get at least 18" here in our area. But then again, I have my office at home - I do feel bad for the people who need the money, but can't get to work. One of the things I like the best about getting a lot of snow is that everything just stops. It forces people to slow down in their everyday lives and come together like Jenniferajr5 said above. It's peaceful, beautiful, and can bring out the child in all of us - I'm 45 and still sleigh ride. The other day, my hubby and I built a huge snowman. He hadn't done that since he was a little kid. If there's anything negative, it would be that the grocery stores are unbelievably crowded the night before and sometimes they're all sold out of certain foods!
