To me, James Earl Jones will always be the voice of Bell Atlantic, but before his rich baritone was selling me on the virtues of a phone company that no longer exists*, he was the voice of a little-known space villain named Darth Vader. He wasn't the body, though. That was a 6'7 former bodybuilder from across the pond named David Prowse. Here for the first time (that I've seen) is some raw, pre-dubbed footage of Darth Vader and his original, decidedly whinier voice.
