'Betty White To Host SNL' Facebook Group (The One)

When they're not proving that a pickle is more popular than Nickelback or declaring how awesome their boyfriends are, Facebook groups sometimes help a legitimate cause such as getting a father to stop smoking.

The newest group to hit our radar is an important cause that we're behind wholeheartedly: "Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!"

In the group's description, Betty White fans claim that the iconic Golden Girl should be recognized for her "eighth decade" in the show business (homegirl just turned 88!) and her achievements in acting, comedy and animal activism.

We agree! I mean, do we even need to remind you of her hilariousness? Betty is top of mind after her appearance in a Super Bowl commerical on Sunday, after all. She would be a perfect host and might actually get us to tune in to SNL for once. Not to mention, she'd help balance out the average age of this season's hosts.

I'm almost 60 and I've been watching Ms. White since I was a little boy. Having Betty on SNL would probably be the only way you could get me to watch that show but I can't help thinking that it's the writers that make the show so un-funny these days. If they can't make the people on there funny what would they do with a pro like Betty White. In the old days of Saturday Night most of the skit characters were invented by the cast. Akroid, Belushi, Radner, Chase, etc.....

At88 years she is great. Lets see some of the todays so called commedians do what she has done over her lifetime with out the use of drugs, steroids, and other illegal crutchs. She is pure talent, hardwork and dedication. She is one of my idols. I would pay anything to see her and not one penny to see some of druggies who claim to have comedy talent.

I'm 87 and haven't watched SNL for years. It stopped being funny when they went political. I'd watch to see Betty White, but the show is too far below her level of talent.

I LOVE Betty White...I HATED her ole as ROSE on the
Golden Girls though. Shame on those writers that made her look so stupid. There were some lines that were good...and when she was talking about Charlie I cried right along with her (I personally think she was thinking about her deceased hubby Alan Ludden from Password fame)when playing this. Which made her so convincing.
She was great in Lake Placid too...lol
But I can't stand her in Golden Girls...sorry!
Otherwise...an excellent grade A+ actress!!!!

Last week I watched The Grammy awards. Seems the older I get the more I find these shows a waste of time. My ability to recognize the celebrities of today has become increasingly nonexistent. I'm not trying to be mean spirited. But the days of wine and roses are long gone. It seems that todays generation lacks substance. Being fifty five certainly doesn't put my interest in the same category as my fathers day. But I can honestly say that his era of music, actors, sports figures and comedians certainly carried over with my generation. Betty White has been around as long as I can remember. Her career spans through my Fathers time to last weeks Superbowl. I'm pretty sure there were alot of younger people who didn't have a clue to who she was in the commercial that played during the game. Putting Betty White on SNL may not give the show the ratings that the show saw during the 2008 election. But it certainly will get a ratings boost. This will not revitalize her career. Their's no need to. She always been at the top of her game. What it will do is show the viewing public what real natural talent is. It's time that we layout a white carpet instead of the red carpet that lost it's luster a long time ago I look forward to seeing her.

its not you..the government has done this,it's called censorship,during the vietnam war we turned this government on their ear and some of their rich supporters too,so they all stepped in and brought out the millitia to grab control again,then they diverted the money to the sports industry for better role models for the kids,reagan was a big part of it.and just look at the sports industry today..these people are 10 times worse than any rock band-comic-doper of the 60's...i wouldn't want my kids to grow up like them...!..back then..i did not know it,but we were right..all of the hippies were right...well i am no young kid anymore and my heroes are still the bands from the 60's era and the comics..and the citizens who helped all of us to fight these lousy leaders we had then and today...there is no more confusion here...we were a real force to deal with...and we fought for the right things too..bob dylan is still fighting for civil rights,he's going to be at the whitehouse for a civil rights concert..we need the rest of these 60's era bands back out here to show these young kids how bad they have been brainwashed,by the ownwers of this crooked nation of thieves..!.the song by STEPPENWOLF..."MONSTER"...should be a song that should be played at the civil rights concert...because that's what america has turned into..!

OMG!! Betty White cracks me up. I loved her in Golden Girls. She has more talent than anyone on SNL. As far as I'm concerned, she ranks right up there with Lucy and Carol Burnett. Girl, you're awesome!!!

Betty White is a funny, raucous broad. I love her. Everyone remembers her on Golden Girls. Most don't remember her when she was young. She could make a sailor blush, without using one nasty word. PUT HER ON SNL.

i say snl went down after the original cast left..and the government stepped in too...they gutted the arts/entertainment industry and diverted the money to the sports industry, "they wanted better role models for the kids"..and what a sham that has turned into...lol..reagan was a big part of that..you have to remember,most of the good rock bands were protesting the government and the war,and the good comics were doing the same ,plus everybody was getting high too,so the "G"MEN...were sent in to clean house...and they put a ban on everything they could..and they haven't quit,they're still taking away civil rights...but since they gutted the arts/entertainment industry..there really hasn't been much of anything decent to hit the media...the music today is all corporate music..(very censored)..and the movies are all like a 1960's hallmark presentation for christmas or something...it's a joke..i saw an old chevy chase movie..and i think it was a "B" movie at best..and even that was better than the censored garbage coming from hollywood today..and this music???...please...all it's good for is chasing away cockroaches in high rises...my god it's nothing but torture..!..we need all of the rockers from the 60's era back out here to show these kids today what sing ing and story telling is all about..and the same from the old comics...they were the best.george carlim-richard prior-many more..tody's america is nothing more than gestapo germany.
