When they're not proving that a pickle is more popular than Nickelback or declaring how awesome their boyfriends are, Facebook groups sometimes help a legitimate cause such as getting a father to stop smoking.
The newest group to hit our radar is an important cause that we're behind wholeheartedly: "Betty White to Host SNL (please?)!"
In the group's description, Betty White fans claim that the iconic Golden Girl should be recognized for her "eighth decade" in the show business (homegirl just turned 88!) and her achievements in acting, comedy and animal activism.
We agree! I mean, do we even need to remind you of her hilariousness? Betty is top of mind after her appearance in a Super Bowl commerical on Sunday, after all. She would be a perfect host and might actually get us to tune in to SNL for once. Not to mention, she'd help balance out the average age of this season's hosts.
Join the cause! Become a fan of the group and let your voice be heard.

They can't let Betty White host SNL, she's much too funny.
She would just make everyone realize how awful that show is.

This needs to happen. Betty is Awesome! Yes, the show stopped being funny and producing good comedians long ago, and the class and character of someone like Ms. White would definitely be a huge boost and overshadow the shows many shortcomings. I just hope it isn't past her bedtime - LOL!

SNL made a big mistake when they fired Chris Farley and Adan Sandler at the same time. The have never recovered. I agree with you nothing or nobody has come out of it for years.

I'm 68 years old and remember her on our 15 inch tv in the 50's in a show called LIFE WITH ELIZABETH. She was outstanding even then.

She is perfect for SNL, it will show this younger generation that older folks still got it and deserve the respect and total admiration from all of us. She has seen it all, let her put those newbies in their place. You go Betty, show em' what real hilarity is all about. We love you!!!!!!

I've watched Betty since the 70's, and she's a great woman. She is never disappointing.

I turn on The Golden Girls every night for several hours while I'm knitting or reading. Reading during the commercials. Betty White is classic. Have watched her over the years and she always brings a smile.
I quit watching SNL many years ago but will tune in to see Betty.

Are you kidding? Betty White? Why would SNL want a class act? How about Abe Vigoda also. There are hundreds of great actors ands actresses they could ask to host. Look at all the great comedies from the 50's asnd 60's. There is no shortage! They want the people that will bring in the spending younger folk. It is about the numbers, not about talent and acheivement. Then NBC is in trouble just for such issues, they can't find talent. Hell, look who replaced Leno. Obrien? Come on. I bet Parr and Carson rolled over on that decision. NBC has a few major problems. They are called management. CHANGE THAT FROM THE TOP DOWN AND YOU WILL SEE BETTER PROGRAMMING.

I agree. Betty White made a good movie better.
I remember her in Life With Elizabeth, as Sue Ann Nivins, and as Rose on the Golden Girls. She did comercels for Sicence Diet dog food and was a guest on her husband, Alan Luden, game show. These older performers know how to deliver a seamless performance.
GO Betty!
In my estimation SNL hasn't been funny since the John Beluchi days.

DO THE SHOW WITH ALLEN LUDEN!

Yeah, I think that would be a tough one. Though even a dead Alan Luden would be funnier than some of the other guest hosts they've had over recent years.
