I've never met a wax candle that doesn't melt when exposed to heat. The candle that tops the Impossible Lamp is no exception, at least at first.

not entirely convinced there is a lightbulb in that lamp. Looks like they're just shining a light up into it. If there is a bulb in it, maybe it's a fluorescent.
