Sorry Bonbon but the liger is larger than the tiger or lion. I just looked at some sites that say the liger can be as long as 10/12 feet and up to 1,400 lbs.

There was a show on the animal planet (was babysitting grandchildren) and they showed a liger next to it's tiger parent and believe me it made that tiger look like a baby it was that much bigger. They didn't compare it to the lion parent but I think they said that most of the hybreds are born sterile.

It is a tiger. Tigers come in differant colors Thai. There are three definite colors of tigers; standard orange with black stripes, white with black or dark stripes, and the golden tiger with cinnamon stripes.

Tigers are never 'just orange' and depending upon subspecies the hue varies. Generally-speaking, northern tigers (Russia, northern China) have lighter coats. Southern tigers (Malaysia and Sumatra) are darker. Stripes also vary in colour. In the Amur tiger they are more brown than black, and the Bengal may have brown, gray, or black striping. It has been established that there are 14 possible colour combinations in the tiger.

So this is most likely a Tiger

I'm sure this is at the San Diego Zoo and the glass between the TIGER and the child is about 1 in thick. The tiger could hardly break it. What a cute picture.

It is a very cute photo. It is a tiger. Tigers do come in a light brown/cream color, they are not all orange in color. He/she looks very big because the child is very small.
