Would you stop the car to avoid hitting something you weren't sure was really there? That's the question behind the invisible rope trick. Two guys stand opposite one another, each tugging at what appears to be an invisible rope. You come along and are faced with a dilemma for the ages.
Do you dare risk it all and go through? Or do you wait patiently, perhaps like a sucker, hoping that they'll finish their invisible job in a timely manner?
Don't worry. They get what's coming to them in the last video.

"Just plane fun"? Wow, must have been interesting running out on to a runway trying this on planes..bet it never worked then; at least these guys were having "just plain fun." Makes more sense that way.

I did this as a stupid, 10 yr old kid. Got to watch a two-car, rearend crash right in front of my house. Needless to say, maybe a harmless sidewalk prank, but in a "Murphy's Law world", not too wise for the street. Even less funny if someone is injured.

I did this trick with my cousin, as teenagers, many years ago. It was a dark, rainy night and we did it just on the other side of a bend in the road. Just our luck, we didn't realize it was a police car. He slammed on his breaks and spun around 2 or 3 times, going through an intersection and almost hitting a building on the other side. We hauled our butts away into the woods as fast as we could and didn't get caught. It was fun, but yes, it was stupid too. Thank God nobody was hurt.

I love a good prank as much as anybody, and pulled a few when I was a kid. Times have changed, though. The way people are today, someone could literally get shot for something like this. Remember the kids throwing eggs at cars (Pennsylvania or Ohio), and the driver got out and shot them?
The kids pulling the pranks may be in for just some good natured fun, but you just don't know about the sense of humor of the people you're pulling the pranks on. Some folks will either shoot you or sue you without a second thought.

And just what does health care have to do with this irresponsible prank? You just use any excuse to spout your political views no matter how incongruous they are, huh, Earl?

The rope trick is at least 70 years old.Was usually done on Holloween night, along with throwing a dummy off the viaduct in front of a car.Cars were much slower, but it did cause some serious problems,in that drivers swerved and caused a collision. Not so funny then, since the pranksters were held liable.Water balloons thrown at windsheilds caused breakage and sometimes fatalities.I know some who are doing lengthy prison time for removing stop signs, and caused deaths.Dumping over outhouses sometimes created a stinky mess. Those were the days-not any more.

...As the human species drops even further into the pit of obsurdity....I dont know whos more retarded, the people pretending to hold a rope across traffic FUXING with people ont eh road which is well seriously DUMB, or the drivers who think they're actually holding something....
Me, Id plow right through and if any damage happened to my car Id beat the punks into the pavement.

Come on.......... we were doing this as kids back in 1952 but we would have 5 or 6 guys on each side of the road "pulling on the rope". Our best though was stacking leaves in rows 10' a part on a one way street. Cars would, gently, drive through the first 3 or 4 piles and then pick up speed. The 8th of 9th stack would be covering empty garbage cans. We would run like hell LOAO.
Oh the great days of youth, they go bye soooooo fast.

This is like yelling fire in a theater. If there isn't a fire your in deep doodoo.Don't know if I believe the story or not about the other kids causing an accident but that was my first thought when I seen them do it with that other car behind the one they were pulling the prank on.Would they have thought it was funny if someone had made a panic stopped and skidded off the road and ran over them (too bad someone didn't hit the idiots)
This is a true story I'm going to tell you about a kid who thought he was being cool.He thought it was cool to grab an open window of a school bus as it would pull away from his bus stop then let go as it would speed up.He got caught and was not allowed to ride anymore.
So this genius decided to do it again and hid behind a bush and when the bus pulled away from the curb and grabbed the window, only this time he lost his grip and fell under the rear duals. His injuries were extensive and he was lucky to survive,if you can live the rest of your life with a colostomy bag from the age of 12.His parents sued of course and I never new if they got any money or not.But if I had been the judge they wouldn't get a dime.He was kicked off the bus the parents had been told why and he wasn't even supposed to be at the bus stop.Entirely his fault.
