Would you stop the car to avoid hitting something you weren't sure was really there? That's the question behind the invisible rope trick. Two guys stand opposite one another, each tugging at what appears to be an invisible rope. You come along and are faced with a dilemma for the ages.
Do you dare risk it all and go through? Or do you wait patiently, perhaps like a sucker, hoping that they'll finish their invisible job in a timely manner?
Don't worry. They get what's coming to them in the last video.

Sure this is REAL FUNNY. Here the down side. Destin,Fl. My son (16)and his friend (17)saw this darn thing on early part of last summer. "Oh how funny" ! They did the same thing. But the first car stoped and the secound car hit the first in the rear end..Funny all right. Cost TO ME ~ $2340.18 first car.~Secound car $3334.90. ~ Court cost and Lawyer $1875.00,= $7550.08. The cost was split with the other father. Plus they both got 2 year probation.Oh and now my son cant get his drivers licence till he's 18. Yep! Real funny.. As he will be riding the school bus to school. Thank goodness no one was hurt or he would have raly been in deep crap...

Oh please, I highly doubt that's even true. Why would someone get probation for acar wreck...unless he was driving without a license. If true too then he should been paying attention, could've been a dog crossing the street the other car stopped for. This is a harmless prank, get a sense of humor.

Hmm...I actually don't believe you, although I DO like the reaction of the people in the car who threw the trash at the kid.

Kids will be kids. Let them have fun. At least they are outside having fun unlike all of us sitting behind a computer screen to view the world outside.

While I'm a former law enforcement officer I do know that there COULD be an arrest created under the premise/law of "creating a public nuisance", of which the potential charges/fines/verdict could have been rendered! Understand that when people are in the open world they have the right to NOT BE ANNOYED; to go about their business and to decide what is correct in their worlds that complies with the legal and established world (at least in the United States). Also, most states have laws that create and attachment of liability/culpability to the parents for damages created by their children until that "child" reaches the legal age of adulthood. Therefore I do believe that this statement is correct and the rest of you should learn to research things before you open your mouths -- you can look foolish (if you even care).

You moron. A car hit you because you were stopped for an obstacle in the road? Other car's fault. Get the hell outta here.

What amazes me are the people that accept this as a harmless prank. This is about as funny as those kids that drop rocks onto Interstate highways. I wonder how "prankish" it would be if the car swerved and hit the kid and killed him. Oh wait, that isn't funny is it?

In typical fashion, AOL posts the most irresponsible thing they can find. Although this trick has been around for the better part of a century, the human race keeps renewing the unlimited supply of idiots as the old ones die off. I wonder how many accidents, injuries and or fatalities AOL will cause when the fresh crop of idiots sees this. Hopefully, someone will sue AOL right out of existence.

But if that happens (AOL ceasing to exist) where will you post your worthless comments to these "irresponsible" articles?

This trick is as old as the hills. My brothers and I used to do is back in the middle 50's, only we did it better. Once a car past by, we would run behind the car acting like we are still holding the rope and the car was pulling us. You young kids got anything NEW???

We all did things that, if thought about, probably where pretty lame or bordering on, just plain stuped, when we were kids. Living in the city {chicago} we were pretty bored with things at times, so we came up with all sorts of things to amuse ourselfs. We would find old purses in the trash, look for dog excretment{of which there always seemed to be an abundance}and put the two together, which we would then place at a bus stop.It was quite hillarious when the "victim" whold then go through the purse, looking for "valuables"! Believe me, this was just one thing our fertile minds came up with!It is only with the hindsite of age that you can understand the the consequences of your actions, and it is always the victims of these pranks that look for the most severe punishments,or those who are still looking for "getting even" for the pranks that where played on them in the past, as forgivness is really not a human option when remembering your "embarasment" for falling prey!As long as there are kids with any idle time, there will be victims of pranks, still better that one is pranked than robbed, or shot! Get real people!!!

HELL, I remember doing the rope trick back in the 40's in the little town of Brookview, NY. We did it mostly at night, where we could get lost in the darkness of the woods, should some driver stop and start swearing to/or at us. No one ever got punched in the nose, nor was anyone ever sued over anything.
I'm in my late 70's now, what memories remenbered, TNX again----

OMG-we used to do this as kids....until one fateful night when a bunch of teenagers were in the car-they got out and chased us. I don't know how we managed to get away, but you can believe we never did it again!
