Fred Phelps and The Westboro Baptist Church aren't just a bunch of looney tunes, they're a bunch of looney tunes that tout some supremely offensive ideology! On the short list of things they hate, there's Jews, gays, fallen soldiers, and gay, Jewish, fallen soldiers. They're a pre-tty rowdy bunch, to say the least.
Traveling around the country to protest synagogues and funerals, the hate-mongering gaggle of goons always make sure to carry their signature signs, which usually claim that people who like-like other people with familiar genitalia is cuh-razy.
In fact, these signs are no longer just a staple of a Westboro protest, but they're now the stuff of legend, a clear signal as to Where the Crazy Things Are.
And now, with God Hates Signs, you can make your very own protest poster just like Freddie and his merry band of imbeciles. Check out ours below!

Pretty sure if god existed she/he would be more concerned with murderers, rapists & peados than two consenting adults in love. As far as my knowledge of chrisianity goes I'm pretty sure god is pro love and anti hate/violence. Perhaps these people were too dim to read the bible.

Try looking through Leviticus for your daily cup of STFU.

Leviticus 18:22, 20:13-14. "You shall not lie with a man as a woman:
that is abomination" (New English Bible). This part of the "Holiness
Code" of the Old Testament, which also condemns the practice of eating
rare meat or wearing a fabric from more than one material - anyone
eating a rare steak while wearing a cotton/polyester is doubly
violating this holiness code! (Funny: these things don't seem to
bother Fundamentalists.) Leviticus also states that any
man or woman caught in adultery '*must* be put to death' (Lev. 20:10).
Preachers quick to call homosexual acts an 'abomination' are not
insisting that Jim Bakker *must* be "put to death"! And for good
reason: the New Testament repeatedly declares the Hebrew Holiness
Code or "Law" has been replaced by the new dispensation in Christ.
Jesus said of the woman caught in adultery:
"If any one of you is without sin, let him to be the first to throw a
stone at her" (New International Version; John 8:3-11). Furthermore,
the "detestable" nature of lying "as a woman" refers to a male's
assuming the *passive role in anal intercourse*, which was held as an
abomination because of taking on the inferior status of women.
Apparently it does not view the "active" role in anal intercourse as
an abomination, nor other homosexual acts, e.g., fellatio.

Jesus preached love. He NEVER would have stood for this kind of insanity in His name. God IS Love.
And for the record...
We are ALL sinners, every single one of us. It is up to each of us to address our wrongs with God. All sin is equal in the eyes of God. We also are not allowed to judge, as God has told us.
Therefore... shut your pietraps. Your sins are no better than those of ANYONE else, especially the gay community. Mind the plank in your own eye, and let others worry about their own splinters.
Unless you disagree so vehemently... then feel free to discuss it with my married, gay minister. Or my pierced, lesbian minister.

Not to mention the fact that it was translated with extreme bias.

Sarabeth, it's a shame that when you die you won't be around in any way, shape or form to realize that you wasted so much time in your life worrying about frivolous religious matters. Being an Atheist is incredibly liberating :)

What is tragic is the need so many adults seem to have for an imaginary daddy in the sky. If people treated each other with greater compassion, there would be no need to believe in things that are not real. And the con artists out there preying on the believers wouldn't be able to take advantage of so many who are in the greatest need of compassion.

even though throughout most of the old testament, there was no such thing as recording historical events or writing, so tell me, why has most of the old testament been proven to have happened, even going as far back as over 3,000 years ago, 1,000 before the books of the bible were written, how is it that most atheist's celebrate Christmas and easter, also, even though they are holidays exclusive to Christianity?

There are some historical aspects in the Old Testament that are based in fact, but not a lot, and certainly not the mystical God stuff. As a historian, the Bible is not a reputable account of history; it is a joke in that aspect. Think of it this way: the book Harry Potter is set in Brittan, but because that country exists, doesn't mean wizards and witches exist. As far as celebrating Christian holidays, most of them are actually Pagan holidays that have been re-branded by our culture. I celebrate those holidays because 1.) I get presents, 2.) My family gathers on those days, and 3.) I get off work on those days. You should check this out man, it will blow your mind:

Sarabeth, it is also very possible, in fact, more probable than meeting god, when you die, that you are just dead. Bless you too.

Death is merely a sleep you never dream in and never wake up from. It's a reality that too many people find unbearable, so they make up a story of some afterlife to make living easier. Then some control freak yahoo (who was probably schizophrenic) came along and said that there are two afterlives... one for good people and one for bad people. "Oh and by the way, bad people are those who don't believe the exact same thing *I* do, and don't do everything I tell them to do. It's all about me, and I know best. Don't do what I want, and my imaginary friend will smite you." Thus the first religion got started.

How did this become "I do/don't believe in God" instead of about the signs? I, too, am sorry for those who aren't experiencing the joy of living a life with Christ, but I'm certainly not in a position to criticise anyone else's belief (or non belief). If you are truly a believer then you know it's not just about what happens after you die, but about the great peace and joy you have in your life when you know Christ. Trying to explain this to someone is like trying to explain what loving your children is like to someone without any. At least they can see kids! I like to think that God loves everyone, and so much so that when this world comes to an end everyone gets the prize. I'm not an exclusivist. I want everyone to know what I know and have what I have. (I'm also for socialized medicine, LOL)

So yeah, figured I'd chime in cos I find these signs to be oh so funny. According to CHRISTIAN scriptures: For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten Son to die for Man's sin. Don't really see anything about the white, heterosexual America world in there...just the world in general...really do hate humanity-.-;

I'm sorry to those that this offended. I do believe in God and people like these, give people like me, a bad name. My word (The Bible) says I am to love my brother. I don't have to like or aprove of what you do, but I have to love you. Be kind and care. The Samaritan didn't believe in God and He knew that this man who was hurt laying along side of the road was one of those.(Believer) And yet He stopped and helped him. When others passed by, Not just by but on the other side of the road. They were supposed to be believers.(Guess they didn't want to get thier hands dirty, didn't have the time.)He not only stopped and helped him but paid to put him in an inn. Stayed with him till he was better and paid for him to stay till he was able to get back up on his feet. I do have a question for all. When something really really bad happens to you or someone you are close to. (To those who have not had this experance count your blessings.) Ok now this life and death thing. What did you do. Be honest with yourself. With out even realizing that you even did it. Did you say "Oh Lord, Dear God, Dear Jesus, God help me"? Something along those lines. Did something like that come out of your mouth or across your thoughts? Believe me it did not fall on a deaf ear. God heard that cry, it was a honest heart felt call. Blessings and Prayers For My Nation!
