Oh man, you guys, Groundhog Day is tomorrow! Seriously, out of all the rodent related holidays, Groundhog Day has got to be the best. Hands down.

Actually, wait...Easter...damn. (Ed. note: Dude, rabbits aren't rodents so Groundhogs can still be the best)

Okay, Groundhog Day is at least the second-best rodent-related holiday. Why? Because groundhogs are badass (see: picture to the left). Also, Groundhog Day is when one of the best movies ever made, 'Groundhog Day,' takes place. Have you seen it? So good! HAHAHA! Very funny and also touching and relevant and good-life-lesson-teaching, Bill Murray! You cannot say that about many comedies.

So, since this is Urlesque and Groundhog Day is tomorrow, I thought we should celebrate the convergence of the internet and the film 'Groundhog Day.' What does the internet do best with movies? It spits out hilariously sick movie trailer mashups.

After the break, check out the best 'Groundhog Day' movie trailer mashups.

Groundhog Day Thriller

This trailer hilariously recasts 'Groundhog Day' as a balls-to-the-wall thriller. It turns out that a simple change of music can make Murray's character seems insanely unhinged.

Groundhog Day Drama

Wow, it really is all in the music, huh? This trailer uses some of the same shots and still manages to make Murray seem as forlorn as a chain smoking antihero in a French noir film.

Groundhog Day Horror

Okay, the shots they chose for this one are just brilliant. I mean, seriously, was 'Groundhog Day' a horror film? I believe it.

What I love most about these trailer remixes is just how damn smart they are, you know? Web culture gets trashed a lot as something that is fleeting, shallow and self absorbed. But these all took real time, skill and thought to make. They're funny, well put together and demonstrate both a love of film and a real understanding of how film editing works. Compared to reality TV, that TV singing competition everyone loves for some reason and even, frankly, the news programs that are really just infotainment, I think these trailers come out ahead as pieces of art. Agreed?
