Sweethearts Candy, the originator of the short (but sweet!) love message, is now connecting with another purveyor of quick sentiment: Twitter! It's the year of quick wit (140 characters, to be exact) and just in time for St. Valentine's Day, the phrase "Tweet Me" will be printed on candy Sweethearts across the globe.
There's something to this whole "brevity is the soul of wit" thing, eh?
"Tweet Me" wasn't the only new love note chosen -- Sweethearts took an online survey and tells USA Today:
[We asked] consumers to suggest the next Sweetheart candy saying, and received more than 10,000 replies. Tweet Me lapped the field. Text Me rated a distant second. Love Bug - inspired by a Jonas Brothers hit song, not the Disney movie - ranked third.
Dying to ask someone to tweet you? It might be easier to just send them a DM -- you've only got a 1/80 chance to get the Twitter heart.
