In 1995, MTV's ongoing miniseries "Sex In The 90's" documented a handful of dudes making their way through the dating scene. There was the straight dude, the gay dude, but most memorable were the two, um, "ethnic" bros whose combined life's purpose was snagging ladies at the club and getting them into a bedroom with mirrored tiles on the ceiling.
Was this the inspiration for "Jersey Shore"? Probably not, but it makes a damn good case.
Also, Ray Romano as "The Nice Guy" is uh-mazing.
