If you think there's a problem with telling a group of Japanese people that they have really pretty manholes, then you're ignorant and we don't want to talk to you. Japan has some of the beautifully decorated manhole covers we've ever seen, but you'd be likely to miss them if you didn't bend over and take a better look. Let us say what we mean; these are manhole covers. Terrestrial holes are composed of, well ... empty space. Unless you know how to grab a fart and paint it most holes will remain empty space filled with colorless air usually.
