Urlbots, this one just warms the cockles of my cold, cold heart. Check it: Reddit, the social news site/awesome online community, has started a massive Secret Santa gift exchange.

Launched just a few weeks ago, the program has proved to be a huge success, with over 4,500 members in more than 54 countries joining in the fun. Secret Santas pored over their partners' online fingerprints, reviewing Facebook profiles as well as posted comments and links, all in order to perfectly calibrate gift choices.

It's a genuinely heartwarming example of how online communities can play a meaningful role in a person's life. The suggested cost of a gift was set to $15, but many participants far exceeded the limit. After the break, check out five of the most noteworthy gifts exchanged in Reddit's Secret Santa.

5. The Gift of Music

Santa sure was generous to this lucky Redditor: he received an electric guitar, an amp and a DVD with guitar lessons. Pretty awesome.

4. The Gift of Knowledge

This recipient didn't have any comments on Reddit, so... his Santa just figured that he or she would enjoy a Kindle.

3. Fund Drive

The Redditor who received this gift has a girlfriend who uses a service dog. So, the Santa started a fund drive on Reddit to earn money for emergency veterinary care for the dog. Pretty incredibly thoughtful, right?

2. Twilight Book

I know what you're thinking... UGH, right? Nope, this recipient opened up the book and found two movies and a working iphone hidden in a hollowed out cavity.

1. Book Money

This recipient received a note that said: "Merry Christmas, hopefully this will help with books next semester ;)." Along with the note came $1,500.
