Jamie Frevele doesn't foresee getting married anytime soon, if at all. Alas, many of her gay friends wish they had the chance, in spite of governmental law that prevents them from sharing the same human right as a heterosexual gal like herself.

Naturally, Frevele -- a writer for The Huffington Post -- figured, why not auction it off to benefit The Point Foundation, which supports otherwise-marginalized gay youth? Cue her eBay post:

I'm an unmarried heterosexual woman, and since I probably won't be using my right to get married, I would like to give it away. I would like to sell it to the highest bidder and donate the proceeds since the government designed to protect all of us is picking and choosing based on what they think is icky, weird, or unknown to them.

Bid now, and you can have my super wonderful privilege and legal ability to get married as many times as you want. You don't have to know the person, you don't have to like them, you don't have to think through your decision to get married or anything - you can just do it! Because you can!

And if it doesn't work out, just get divorced. Half the cool people who get married do that anyway.


Jamie points out a good point: is there really a difference between selling your right to marry and a chicken nugget shaped like a penis? Not if you're gay, say most American bigwigs.
