To consider these dogs ugly is cruel. Many of the dogs in this so called 'contest' are animals that were previously abused, neglected, or purposely inbred to win these terrible contests. We wouldn't parade around a child with a handicap - why would we do that with an animal? Just so people can point and laugh?

to all of you who are saying how horrible it is to have the world's "ugliest" dog. you have obviously never watched the actual competition on Animal Planet. These owners LOVE their dogs. They talk about how they were rescued and how they are member of their family. They know these little dogs will never win a Eukanuba tournament but they want the world to know how special their dog is. They know that ugly is just how outsiders see it. The missing hair and teeth and the skind deformities. None of the owners of the people who attend the show care. They only see a beloved dog who is a SURVIVOR. These dogs have more heart than any purebred poodle could ever hope to have.
