At first glance this may just seem like a collection of the ten most viewed "drum solos" on YouTube, but if you think about it's really so much more. It's a microcosm of the Internet, the epitome of what it's all about. Only half of the drum soloists are real adult drummers. The rest are children, monkeys, and people who don't play drums.

  • 1. Forget Neil Pert or Buddy Rich. This seven-year-old's drum solo is the best of all time. That's according to 12 million people.

  • 2. Not surprisingly, the second most popular drum solo doesn't have any drums. It's just a guy beatboxing.

  • 3. Number three, ladies and gentlemen. Hot on the heels of the child and the guy with the big hair, it's Travis Barker of Blink 182. You know what they say: Pop-punk, it's all about the drum solos.

  • 4. Number four is a gorilla playing Phil Collins in a chocolate commercial.

  • 5. This is Tony Royster, Jr. You may know him from one of his earlier videos, amazing drum solo by a 12-year-old.

  • 6. Like number two, the sixth most popular drum solo also starts out without any drums. Will there be any drumming in this drum solo? You'll have to watch and find out.

  • 7. The seventh most popular drum solo comes from Joey Jordison, the drummer from Slipknot.

  • 8. If we were talking about cat lives, this would be the second to last one. But since we're talking about popular drum solos on the Internet, it's actually an Asian man playing the keyboard.

  • 9. Number nine is a guy playing Guitar Hero, but since he's drumming and not pressing the button guitar, it's sort of like he's actually playing a real instrument.

  • 10. Real drums again. What a fitting way to cap it all off.
