Best of the Web -- The 2009 Urlies

As 2009 draws to a close, once again we take a trip down memory lane to reflect on the best (and worst!) that the Internet had to offer this year.

We asked and you voted! With over 72,000 votes cast in our second-annual Urlies Awards, the cream of the web crop rose to take the coveted title of Urlies award winner. Each of the 10 main categories received a People's Choice (based on highest number of votes) and Editors' Choice (picked by your fearless Urlesque editors) pick. Would be good to let people know that the way they can access to vote for other categories is to cast a vote #1 Meme of the Year and once that vote has been selected, a NEXT button appears which leads voters through the other categories. Really confused me at first! x
