Argleton is a small British town just south of Ormskirk. A Google search brings up listings for homes, dating, doctors, even the best way to plan your outdoor activities in the town. These are all things you'd expect to find in suburb of Liverpool, except in the case of a a place like Argleton...
...which just so happens to be complete made up. As in, not real. Fictional, but without a back story. Why and how it appears on Google Maps is a mystery that even Google can't seem to account for. Read the whole story at The Daily Telegraph.

It's a paper town. Mapmakers put towns into their maps that are completely made up because they will be able to tell if someone else has copied their map.

hahahahah, thats halarious. I read the rest of the article at the link that you gave...it said that the Google spokesperson said that they will take it off, but then i searched it on google maps and it was still there....weird. XDD
