Some fear the dark. For others, a trip to the dentist. And for some, it's a clown (and rightly so).

Is it the make-up? (Yes.) The plastered smile? (You bet.) The enormous feet (that so often look -- *shudder* -- independent of the body)? (Hell yeah.) These balloon-wielding, nose-honking buffoons can put the fear of God into a person, and whether or not they're meant to entertain children is no matter: clowns are horrifying.

A clown out of make-up, though -- that can't be nearly as scary, right? Consider yourself warned: the transformation from human being to Bozo's finest might, in fact, be scarier.
