I'm sorry we weren't able to discover or create a brand new animal for you. Unfortunately in this economy our budget just doesn't allow for that kind of R & D. I'll talk to somebody in the lab though, and see if they can maybe whip up some sort of amoeba on the cheap. J/K. Anyway, you didn't even tell us what it was, so, what is it? And do you any pictures or video of your robot? We'd love to see it.

That is the wondrous and fascinating baby Dumbo Octopus! They live in the deep dark trenches of the ocean and are completely amazing looking. When they mature, they grow these big elephant ear like appendages that help them glide through the water. There is some great footage of them in the Deep Ocean episode of Planet Earth!

That wondrous and amazing creature is the baby Dumbo Octopus! They live in the deepest, darkest trenches of the ocean. When they mature, they will grow large elephant-ear like appendages that help them glide through the water. There is some great footage of an adult Dumbo Octopus on the Deep Ocean episode of Planet Earth!
