I'm not a big bug person. I find them to be truly unknowable creatures to the point where it's unsettling. In a world so full of places that I am not, why are you buzzing around my head, crawling up my leg, hiding in my walls? If all people want to do is squash you, where, how, and why does this fit into a sustainable, survival-oriented way of life? But what if bugs were really the same as us, living out tiny micro-lives so similar to ours that, for fear of recognizing our own aimless futility, we subconsciously refused to recognize as a mirror of our own? What if all we had to do was connect the dots, fill in the blanks, draw out the lines to see it? Eh, probably not.
