I don't have any statistics to back this up, but it seems like the Segway never caught on the way that some people predicted it might. Mail carriers still ride around in trucks, extreme athletes still use boards and bikes, and Vespas haven't been as popular in more than fifty years. Still, all may not be lost in the world of self-balancing personal mobility devices. With just a cursory glance at Honda's new U3-X, it's plain to see that it has one big feature that the Segway never had. A seat. Americans love to sit... and move. They love to sit while moving.


This the Segway for the power chair set and the office cowboys who wish they could end their days by rolling their chairs off into the sunset. This is self-balancing personal mobility device that will restore the world to greatness.
