As the rice harvest approaches, the days of Inakadate's vast and impressive rice paddy art fields are nearing their inevitable demise. This unique agricultural art-form, which is created by strategically planting different colors of rice, has been drawing visitors to this small village in Japans' Aomori prefecture since 1994. This year's display featured portraits of Napoleon and a Sengoku-period warrior, both on horseback.
