Itching to take a road trip, but missing the ample time, available funds and running vehicle? It's cool, just do what these guys did -- take a Google Maps Roadtrip! Peter Baldes and Marc Horowitz may be separated by several states, but that didn't stop them from configuring a virtual road trip in which the two are joined by webcam and currently live on UStream.tv sharing their trip across the United States of America. They continually click along the drive arrow in Google's Street View to slowly pass thorough our great nation, joined by a chat room of hitchhikers who urge them to pass the real-time with road-songs and car games.
Grab your virtual hobo sack, stick our your cyber thumb, and join the two on their journey by clicking on the live stream below. This is everything that we'd do on a real road trip, except we don't have to leave the house, pay for gas, or worry about getting speeding tickets.
