Why drop top dollar to see a Broadway musical when there could be one happening just outside your door? By combining flash mobs with some song and dance, Break Out in Song, brings Broadway to the street and surprises random onlookers to a free show. Shot over four days in New York City, the guerilla-style performances show us what it might be like if everyone actually knew the words to songs... and the dance moves.

If you're not fortunate enough to happen upon a performance, check out the clips below to see Break Out in Song in action -- stay tuned to the Urlesque Twitter because we might have some insider info on where you can catch the next performance!

  • "Consider Yourself" in Times Square! (NOTE: Watch dancers almost get arrested by a not-in-on-the-joke cop.)

  • "Anything Goes" on the Intrepid!

  • "Don't Rain On My Parade" in the South Street Seaport!

  • "If My Friends Could See Me Now" at the Time Warner Center!

  • BONUS: Our friends at Rocketboom have an interview with creator Ryan Mackey, who gives the lowdown on how to create one of these darn things. It's like a DVD extra for the web!
