Visual Arts Center of Richmond mad men advertising ipodWhen we were young, the dreaded trade off of pool parties for hitting the books was basically the worst thing to happen between June and September. Parents who enrolled their kin in any type of educational summer program -- while bright sunshine and the smell of chlorine beckoned in the distance -- were, more or less, considered to be The Worst.

But had we been around for The Visual Arts Center of Richmond's Mad Men Ad Design Class -- where kids apparently get to dance around to M.I.A.'s 'Paper Planes' in a colorful montage that brings to mind the classic iPod commercials -- we wouldn't have been caught dead in a bathing suit.

Plus, the class references Mad Men, which automatically makes you cool.
