Pam Epstein, a PhD student in history at Rutgers University, decided while finishing her dissertation on "the transformation of love and marriage in the mid-nineteenth to early-twentieth century in America," that her studies were fit to blog. On Advertising For Love, Epstein has taken to posting personal ads from way back when, during the days when Craigslist was probably a scroll listing the names of town jesters deemed appropriate for beheading. (Because that's what happened in olden times or whatever.)
Anyway, you guys, love never ages. Here are some of the ads, for which we've provided translations into modern-day jabber:
"I've got money if you've got a vagina."

Translated:
"How's your dog? Wanna bone? (You, not the dog.)"

Translated:
"Anita Manzoe prefers Spanish d*ck."

Translated:
"New in town. Crazy horny."

Translated:
"Charlie: Yes, come."
