Coming to a TV near you: the Internet. Seriously. Soon, YouTube (and Urlesque, of course) won't be the only place you'll be seeing your favorite viral videos -- not with the plethora of web-based shows hitting the airwaves. Not only will there be Chris Hardwick's Web Soup, which will be airing on G4, but we've also got comedian Daniel Tosh's Comedy Central-based Tosh.0. Yes that's Tosh-point-oh. You get it. (Tosh.Oh-no-they-didn't!)
Tosh on Miss Teen South Carolina:
"I'm totally a fan of her. My angle is that I've been there. I've been on stage where you freeze, and you've just got to keep talking, and it doesn't make sense. Yet what she did when that happened was so genius that people couldn't help but watch it over and over again. So I think she's a genius. Have you seen her stomach? You don't learn about geography in the gym."
And the way to get your video viral? Tosh might as well be a "social media expert:"
"Once you mash up a cat jumping into a box with somebody butchering "The Star-Spangled Banner" while having a lion f**king its long-lost love, you're in good shape. I think that's a lock. Also, emotion careening with insanity is a guaranteed hit video."After reading this interview, we have (more) faith. Then again, If Tosh showed some Animals with Hiccups? You know we'd hop right on that train. Take care of our Internet, Tosh. If you don't, you'll be hearing from us. You'll probably be hearing from us, anyhow. Don't forget the cats.
