During his first day at Srinakharinwirot University, a special needs school in Bangkok, an eleven-year-old autistic boy climbed out of a window on the third floor, alarming teachers who couldn't manage to talk him down from the ledge.
Upon hearing from the boy's mother that her son was a fan of superheroes, fireman Somchai Yoosabai returned to his station to retrieve a Spiderman costume he kept in his locker for school fire drills. Returning to the scene as Spiderman with the boy's favorite meal in webbed hand -- moo satay and orange drink -- Yoosabai persuaded the boy to safely climb off the ledge and into his arms with success. After he rescued him, the autistic boy wouldn't let Yoosabai go until he promised he had "others" to save. "My job isn't only to stop fires," said the firefighter, "but also to help people."
All in a day's work for a guy in a spider suit.
