We thought it was cool when Waxy's Andy Baio isolated the background scenery from some of the Internet's most famous video memes, turning something ultimately stoopid into -- dare we say -- conceptual art. (Plus, did you ever really stop and consider the spectral beauty of the fog surrounding Rick Astley?)
Turns out someone did something quite similar -- and a year earlier -- with random YouTube videos exclusively featuring "booty dancing," or gals crankin' out almost-graphic dance moves to the hottest tunez. With Bootyclipse, Dennis Knopf removed the subjects from the videos, instead leaving only the background and music in tact.
It's weird, awesome and silly... just the way we like it.
