Wilma, a gal in Long Island, New York, houses her own shelter for neglected dogs whom she adopts out to loving families [disclaimer: this blogger is now the proud papa of one of her rescues]. A one-woman business, Wilma's Orphans nurses unwanted dogs to health, preparing them for their "forever home."
Recently, Wilma took in Lollipop, a one-year-old Lhasa Apso mix with *omg* juvenile cataracts, which were quickly making her go blind. So Wilma took to the Net, sending e-mail blasts and asking for help all over the web to raise enough money for Lollipop's corrective surgery. And it worked!
Lollipop is regaining her full, normal eyesight, and Wilma reports in an e-mail forward that she has many interested families anxious to give the pup a new home. Better yet, enjoy this video footage of the girl making a full recovery (albeit in one of those stupid -- but admittedly hilarious -- Elizabethan collars).
Now that's one sweet Lollipop!
