The Internet is waiting for you to fail. On its worst days, participating in Internet culture can be a fight to the bitter finish, in which moments of despair become the laughing stock of trolls everywhere. And this classic video, in which a local news reporter falls face-flat into the earth, could easily provide an unnecessarily mean-spirited mass guffaw at the expense of the poor lady. Yet, in spite of the endless sack of local news gaffes that live on the YouTube, this one has become a viral phenomenon. While participating in a grape-stomping contest, the reporter announces a fake-out and playfully "cheats" her competition which quickly earns her the schadenfreude of any viewer who doesn't buy in to the saccharine, nothing-but-smiles attitude of the reporter covering the human interest beat. Plus, the noises she makes after the fall (and, better yet, the response of her colleagues in the studio -- "Youch!") have forever been etched into viral history, and deservedly so.
As expected, the grape lady had been parodied and remixed with the best of them.
