Urlesque counts down the top 100 viral videos in the history of the web.

Leave it to an indie-minded band to build a following from the ground up... from YouTube up, to be specific. OK Go's DIY dance video for their single 'Here It Goes Again' took the web by storm in 2006 with its inventive and impeccably-timed treadmill choreography. While the video was not the Chicago band's first shot at "ironic choreography", their unique use of paisley and gym equipment made for a winning combo. (And shot in one continuous take, believe it or not!) The video was so popular, in fact, that it helped shoot the single into both the US and UK Top 40 charts.

The viral following not only added to the song's placement in a number of ad campaigns, but the video itself pervaded pop culture -- with parodies appearing on shows like The Simpsons. Without a doubt, the video proved the power of viral marketing for indie bands, and to this day, this kind DIY style of web video is much emulated.
