Barack Obama, the President who was elected by raising historic amounts of money online and whose candidacy rode a wave of internet enthusiasm, also pioneered the first Presidential YouTube Address. Updating a tradition of Presidential radio-addresses and embracing technology has provided Obama another avenue to talk directly to the American people.

Since the first installment, he's also used the weekly internet address to make the case for his stimulus bill and discuss the financial crisis. The administration has built on the idea by hosting an online townhall meeting (in which the #1 most asked question was about pot legalization) and to conduct internet-diplomacy in a message to the Iranian people. Time will tell if Obama's YouTube addresses will take on the historical significance of FDR's Fireside Chats, but we definitely can't imagine a President going back to radio-only from here on out. Unless a Republican manages to get elected again.
