#75 - Look At That Horse

One of many home shopping bloopers to find fame on the Internet, Look At That Horse features a host whose over-reliance on the teleprompter gets him in trouble when he mistakes a large picture of a moth for a horse. "Look at that horse; the bushy tail, the big teeth, the hooves. (Pauses) Okay, my producer Tara Kates just told me this isn't a horse, it's a butterfly. (Chuckles) Actually, it may in fact be a moth." -JB

#74 - Tom Cruise's Scientology Video

The Internet seems to hate Scientology, the "religion" often viewed as nothing more than a sci-fi adventure series subscribed to by Hollywood airheads John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, and -- its crowned king -- Tom Cruise. Cruise forever seemed to remain somewhat mum on the subject, possibly in fear of damaging his career by coming off looking, well, cuckoobananas (considering the fantastical, secretive nature that comes with the territory of L. Ron Hubbard's creation). But then this video surfaced, in which Cruise babbles endlessly about... well, we're not even sure what exactly, but if the last thing the guy wanted to do was be pegged as "out there," this was too little, too late. The Internet had found its prey, and he happened to be the biggest movie star in the world. -EG

#73 - Powerthirst

Produced by Canadian group Picnicface, this faux adverstisement mocks the Gatorade-style ads created to appeal to the "Muscle Milk crowd" -- promising to help drinkers "harness the power of 400 babies" with an energy drink made with "raw lightning." After the group posted the clip to SNL-alum Will Ferrell's comedy site, FunnyorDie.com, the comedian took notice and after giving the clip some press, it shot off and now has over 14 million views. #72 - David Elsewhere

David "Elsewhere" Bernal became internet famous when a clip of him performing at a South Asian dance festival in 2001 began circulating. It was the first dancing video to go viral and laid the groundwork for the many dancing videos to come. As a result, Bernal was also asked to appear in many advertisements including ones for Heineken and Pepsi, a path that many future viral video icons would follow. -RV

#71 - G.I. Joe Porkchop Sandwiches Mash-Up

These days, the minute a clip hits YouTube it's subject to the mash-up-ing masses. The pioneers of the video mash-up are too numerous to count, but one of the forefathers of the genre has to be Fensler Films' G.I. Joe PSA dubs, videos better known by one of the dubbed lines: "porkchop sandwiches." Most of it is pure gibberish, but the genius lies in the mixture of the vintage PSA clips with modern absurdist humor, also "poking fun at the low quality of animation common in cartoons of the era by pointing out poor inbetweening and lip syncing." After receiving a cease-and-desist letter from Hasbro, Fensler had to take the clips off their account, but in true YouTube fashion all of them still live on the site and have been watched millions of times.
