The folks behind Discofinger pay homage in pictures and videos to the dance move first made famous by John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, which has remained popular in the decades since by your mom at weddings. And let's face it: the "discofinger," that signature move in which you point your index finger to alert others to your dancing skills, is immortal.

Their mission statement reads as follows:

The move known as the discofinger is not new. We do not pretend to have invented the operation, nay, we merely seek to document the phenomenon.

Although generally encouraging of the move, we do not specifically attempt to promote the discofinger, rather we strive to find it occurring organically in locals as wide-ranging as the seedy nightclubs of urban environs to the country hoedown and square dance.

We celebrate those who inherently use their fingers while dancing.

They've inexplicably culled videos of international demonstrations of the discofinger, too, which span the globe, in places as far and wide as:

  • Greece

  • Tokyo

  • India

  • Spain

  • England

  • and, of course, Queens, New York

Disco's back, you guys, on the internet!
