We've all snapped a few gratuitous profile portraits in our time, often taken from above for that extra skinny effect!
Well now a Brooklyn-based artist has decided to take these Facebook images from the web to your wall.
Matt Held has created a Facebook group where members can submit their favorite Facebook portraits for a chance to have them painted by Held himself.
My goal for this project is to build a large collection of paintings (sum 200) which mirror individual self-portraits. With the development of social networking sites, I've developed an interest in how people take simple or complex snapshots of themselves, post them to their page as a representation of who they are and what they want people to see.
The results are pretty darn cool!
