Well, kind of. Nine-year-old Shiloh Pepin, who was born with Mermaid Syndrome (Sirenomelia), can also talk (very well) and breathe on land, so she's not a mermaid in the truest sense. What she is, though, is an extraordinary young lady who has triumphed in the face of tremendous odds: She's one of only five survivors in the entire world.
