Behold, the latest attempt to prove that people who use the internet are all snarky, angry simpletons unable to appreciate the finer things in life. This one comes from the Free Art & Technology Lab (aka F.A.T.) who hired a bunch of actors to do dramatic readings of the YouTube comments over a video of Leonard Bernstein conducting Shastakovich's 'Symphony No. 5.' Their point? YouTube commenters are "hostile, petty, and juvenile."
That's harsh, F.A.T., real harsh -- but hearing things like, "Everybody's who's arguing about the interpretation, WTF, it's Leonard f*#cking Bernstein, you can't argue against him in anything in music," read over classical music is kinda funny, so we can cut you some slack. While F.A.T. urges you to view this is a damning indictment of modern internet culture, it'd be a lot more fun if we all just started using this as a new remix technique for videos of cats peeing on themselves. Now THAT'd be high culture, internet style.
