Contrary to their name, these awards aren't hosted by Lil' Kim -- they're hosted by one of our favorite ADD Web-obsessions: Twitter! The Shorty Awards honor the best producers of "short" content in 2008, this means entries of 140 words or less, using Twitter.

The Shorty Awards honor the world's top Twitterers. You can nominate as many people for as many categories as you'd like until midnight December 31st.

Visit the About Section to learn more on contest rules and how you can make nominations. The site also explains that "The five people with the most nominations in each category will go on to the final voting round, held January 5th to 14th. There will be an awards ceremony in New York in late January, where the winners can deliver their 140-character acceptance speeches."

Okay, Twittererverse! The race is on! Make your nominations today -- to borrow a phrase -- if you're into the whole brevity thing. You know who we're voting for.
