Okay. I know that I vowed to stay away from the Internet today, but while watching the legendary Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Internet came to me.
When Cartoon Network's Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends float took center stage, viewers were baffled by a surprise musical guest, Rick Astley, performing the "rickrolling phenom" Never Gonna Give You Up. They rickrolled the parade! Seriously! Did I dream that? Sure, it was kinda funny to laugh along with, but did unknowing folks like my parents know what was going on at all?
Seriously, can we call it a trend death yet?

Ha! I tumblogged this before Urlesque got it! I feel like a true internet geek, and I'm proud of it!
So yes, I think just about nobody on average understood why it was hilarious that Rick Astley appeared. Most people, my wife included, asked "why in the world did they get Rick Astley?" I think it must have been intentional. They got some internets folksis on the production squad...

Yes ... some of the old people knew what was going on ... but only because I follow Urlesque! I was cracking up. I even told my daughter that the Macy's Parade had been Rick Rolled! As I've been told, I'm geekier than I look. Happy Turkey day!
