Look, we can't all be Esmee Denters. Not everybody who sings karaoke into their webcam can be plucked from obscurity and handed a record deal. Life doesn't work like that.

And yet, people try. Lots of people try. Everywhere on YouTube, there seems to be someone chasing the dream by boasting vocal prowess. Of course, broadcasting oneself singing could be a mere practice in deluded narcissism (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Whatever the reason, we hope the collection grows because we've already found some kickass vloggers performing karaoke:

  • No one else can capture the essence of Billy Joel's furious Pressure quite like TTLoonie, who is apparently singing on a children's microphone inside a walk-in closet. And he has 25 other videos waiting for you.

  • Barenaked Ladies, hair mousse and hilarious bonus footage at the end? Epic SCORE, Dr. K.

  • Before singing Justin Timberlake's Sexyback, okayseeyoulater gives a speedy diatribe in which she warns you that she will be singing the song in the style of "Chipmunk/Stitch," and if it doesn't work, "who cares?" Also, she doesn't know the words. In fact, she couldn't look more miserable singing this song -- without a hint of irony - and that's just the way we like it.

  • It's okay if you maul the melody and turn the majority of the lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Rehab into nonsense words, raulcimarris. You've got the dimples that keep on giving. Sing on, brotherman.

  • After his first attempt was removed, evitacovop retries his hand at Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl, an "orgasm of a song" (his words), somehow turning a tune built upon naughty double entendres and sapphic suggestion into a hushed, toothy musical theater ballad. Bernadette Peters, eat your heart out.

  • Dude, you're singing Hootie in the dark. And you're wearing sunglasses. Are you okay?
