You don't need to be a cinephile to recognize the parade scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off as one of the classic moments in the history of American film. To see downtown Chicago overtaken by an irresistibly charming Matthew Broderick, his hot girlfriend and awesome best friend and have so much fun is a moment so cathartic, we all secretly wish we were Ferris Bueller.
Luckily, if you live in New York and plan on attending the famous Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, you can get in on the fun. Project Bueller's manifest reads:
On October 31st, we are recreating the parade scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off at the Village Halloween Parade. This will involve tens of thousands of people breaking out into the world's largest Beatles sing-a-long.There you have it. The flashmob to best all flashmobs, no? At least you can finally stop worrying about the logistics behind recreating that scene from Braveheart.
We want the streets to erupt in joy and for it to be one of the greatest experiences of everyone's lives.
We believe first and foremost in the power of joy and hope to celebrate this principle with you everyday for the rest of our collective lives.
