After aging out of the candy phase, the greatest appeal of Halloween becomes getting to pretend you're someone else for a night.
Why limit yourself to only one evening? The net is rife with photo manipulation sites and avatar-creators to help transform your look. You can pimp out your portrait or make yourself into a brain-craving zombie. Either way, you're never too old to play pretend.
Here are a few of our favorite photo manipulation websites, complete with handy before-and-after examples:

- Yearbook Yourself -- With Yearbook Yourself, you get to create your own yearbook photo set in the '50s, '60s, '70s or '80s. Choose your gender, upload your photo and then resize to fit the frame. When the site creates your generation-specific yearbook pic, it's accompanied by a soundtrack to fit the decade. The only downside is that it's tough to find the right angle on your photo -- a forward-facing shot works best.
- Face Transformer -- This site "tranforms" your face into everything from a "newborn" to "ape." Be prepared for some super-creepy results!

- Face Your Manga -- Another site that we've highlighted before. Create your own Manga avatar! And you don't even have to upload a photo.

- Simpsonize Me -- Upload your own photo, then customize it to create your own Simpsons avatar.

- Blingee --This is one of my all-time favorites. You can add some bling to your photos and save them as an animated gif. It's super easy to use and the results are always hilarious.
