For the past several weeks, Neighborhoodies (a t-shirt/hoodie company based out of Brooklyn, NY) has been partnering with blogs across the web to develop new t-shirt ideas and designs, selling them on their website and giving all the money to charity for their Think Ups program. Many esteemed blogs have participated so far including Videogum, Stereogum, FourFour, Serious Eats and others.
We're so absolutely excited to announce that this week, it's Urlesque's turn in the spotlight. We've thought up 5 deliciously geeky t-shirt ideas for Neigborhoodies to design, bring to life and sell. One design will be revealed each day from Monday (today) through Friday. Each t-shirt is custom printed so... you can choose the color combo of your dreams.
The part we're most excited about is our chosen charity. All proceeds from the sale of our shirts will go to the One Laptop per Child foundation. Here's a little bit about what they're all about (from the OLPC website):
The mission of the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) movement is to ensure that all school-aged children in the developing world are able to engage effectively with their own personal laptop, networked to the world, so that they, their families and their communities can openly learn and learn about learning. Not only is the initiative really cool and touches our hearts, but the laptops that kids all over the world are receiving from OLPC are really adorable (pictured above). It's a perfect fit, right?
So without further ado, here's today's design. In these tough times, Choose LOL. And do it for the kids!
