Hipsters, when not carefully matting their hair, painting on jeans, or trying to find the most wedding-reception-ready pair of Wayfarers possible, apparently like food. (Even the boys more waifish than their girlfriends!) Of course, we're referring to foodie food -- dishes prepared with local, organic ingredients blah blah blah.
Even indie musicians -- idols of hipster worship, not incidentally -- like their food home-cooked. And even though it probably isn't an ironic gesture toward going green or merely a tip of the hat to their own assumed progressive, hippie lite fan base, the food still looks yummy. And luckily for us, they like to show it off on the internet.
- Nico Muhly, young, avant-garde composer to the lesser-known stars, goes gourmet for The Fader Magazine
- Muhly and indie darlings Grizzly Bear sit down to a softly lit, traditional Icelandic dinner
- Sam Mason, a "bad boy" chef whose tattooed sleeves and interest in bands other than The Ramones, even hosted a cook-then-rock-out web series, Dinner With The Band. Here, he prepares steak burgers with Pigeon John (a band, not a hobo).
Ok...we're about ready for lunch. And a Muxtape.
