As summer quietly fades with the onslaught of trading white shirts for Halloween costumes, we're pretty excited by the promise of apple picking, corduroy jackets and -- most especially -- fall foliage. As a matter of fact, this year will be the first in which we crawl into a hot air balloon to take in an aerial view of the season's prettiest offerings.

If we could be granted one wish, it would be to score a ride with hot air ballooness Virgania Horsen:




Sadly, she's merely a brilliant character cooked up by Kristen Wiig on Saturday Night Live. But we're still holding out hope to be skyward bound in one of these babies:






And if worse comes to worse, we'll put up with a giant frog, but only as long as awful house music is blasting in our ears throughout the course of the flight. What's a hot air balloon ride without a little raging, right?
